NOTE: Statement From Agencies to CTF Members on COVID-19

TO: West Valley Citizen Task Force

We wanted to update you on recent events and actions that have taken place at the site to mitigate possible impacts from COVID-19. At this time, there are no confirmed COVID-19 cases at the West Valley site. The US DOE, CH2M HILL BWXT West Valley and NYSERDA continue to coordinate very closely on our response measures as the situation evolves.
Based on these coordination efforts, the WVDP is currently transitioning to a Mission-Essential level of onsite staffing, thereby temporarily halting the deactivation and demolition activities. We will resume these activities when it can be done safely. The majority of WVDP personnel will telework to the extent practicable while limiting our onsite staff to just those individuals necessary to maintain Mission-Essential operations. The purpose of moving to Mission-Essential operations is to ensure that the site remains in a safe configuration, while substantially reducing the risk of transmission of the COVID-19 virus within our workforce and our communities. For the same reasons, the majority of NYSERDA staff are also teleworking but will maintain regular access to the site for all required SDA inspections and monitoring activities.
We will continue to keep you informed of any change in the status of our onsite staffing, and please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. We appreciate your continued support, and hope you stay safe and healthy.

Upcoming 2020 Citizen Task Force Meetings: The Citizen Task Force is scheduled to hold meetings on the following dates:  April 22, June 24, July 22, September 23, October 28 and December 16. Note: meetings do not always go forward as scheduled. Therefore, please check several weeks before a meeting to confirm it will be held.

Upcoming 2020 Quarterly Public Meetings: DOE and NYSERDA will host the Quarterly Public Meeting on the following dates: May 27, August 26 and November 18.

Please note that participation in Citizen Task Force meetings via phone and/or WebEx requires registration at least one day in advance of the meeting. The registration process is on the bottom of the agenda. To request a WebEx invitation please email Bill@LogueGroup.com.
