Springville/Ellicottville Pennysaver & News – WVDP promotes safety through the eyes of children

February 27, 2021 – EM and CH2M HILL BWXT West Valley (CHBWV), its cleanup contractor at the West Valley Demonstration Project, produced its annual site calendar in a creative way to increase safety awareness for workers and their families. It is called the Family Fun Safety Calendar and features drawings created by WVDP employees’ children, ages 12 and under, that depict general safety practices.

“At the West Valley Demonstration Project, it is understood that safety must be something that is not just remembered but put into practice every day and in everything we do,” DOE-WVDP Safety and Site Programs Leader Jennifer Dundas, said. “Safety does not start and stop at the work site. The Family Fun Safety Calendar is designed to engage employees as well as their families and provide a constant reminder on safety awareness.” Link to article

Buffalo Business First -EnergyMark leaders say businesses should be snapping up energy subsidies

February 10, 2021 – Some important elements of EnergyMark’s business changed over the last 10 months.
The Williamsville‐based energy supplier saw consumption drop in industrial and commercial segments. Plus its sponsorship deal as “official energy supplier” of the Buffalo Bills had to be reworked, given absence of fans at home games.
But one aspect that has come on strong is the renewable energy market, according to Gary Marchiori, firm president, and his son Luke, executive vice president. Link to article

Springville Journal Letter to the Editor: The Food Pantry appreciate the generosity of the community

January 28, 2021 – As we look forward to a new year, we at the Concord‐Springville Food Pantry are very fortunate that we have been able to remain open and serving our community through the generous help of so many.

This would never be possible without the community’s involvement. Although we receive food through the WNY Feed More program, the bulk of our pantry is made up of donations by local businesses, churches, school groups and so many individuals.

It is impossible to list all our supporters, but we would be remiss if we did not mention the West Valley Demonstration Project employees, who again this year donated turkeys and cases of food to provide a Thanksgiving dinner to 40 families in our community. Link to Letter
